On January 27, 2023, The Walt Disney Company officially kicked off its epic 100th Anniversary Celebration at Disneyland Resort. The Resort was full of gorgeous decorations, specialty food and drinks, as well as two new nighttime spectaculars. Now, that celebration has extended to EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort and beyond.

This is not the first time that Disney and McDonald’s have teamed up to promote Disney to hungry customers. In the past, McDonald’s has released Happy Meal toys to promote Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Marvel superheroes, and even Stitch from Lilo & Stitch.

Most recently, the two powerhouse companies teamed up to release toys to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, which began on October 1, 2021 and wrapped up in March 2023. Guests could head to McDonald’s to purchase characters that were a part of the Fab 50. Those were 50 gold statues that were spread through Walt Disney World Resort for the 50th.

While the Disney100 promotion at McDonald’s will only last through December 4, Disney’s 100th Anniversary celebration does not currently have an official end date. However, there are certain Disney100 events that have been put on pause.

At Disneyland Park, the new fireworks show, Wondrous Journeys, has been put on pause for both the Halloween and holiday seasons. The park is currently showing Halloween Screams and, beginning in mid-November, will show Believe! In Holiday Magic. World of Color – ONE will also take a pause for World of Color – Season of Light.

Disney has not confirmed if Wondrous Journeys or World of Color – ONE will return once the holidays are over, but based on the love that fans have for the new shows, it is a definite possibility.
