One classic Disney Park ride has extended its closure due to refurbishment due to the effects of Hurricane Hilary in Southern California.
Every Disney fan knows the pain of their favorite Disney Park ride being shut down—whether temporarily for some TLC and refurbishment or more permanently, as in the case of the iconic Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain’s permanent retheme to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was one that fans were very vocally upset about as well, accusing Disney of “pandering to woke audiences” when the company announced its closure.
Now, one other fan-favorite attraction that has been closed for a while will be extending its closure by one day.
How Long Will Radiator Springs Be Closed in Disneyland?
The Disneyland attraction, located in Cars Land, Disney California Adventure Park in Disneyland Resort, closed earlier this summer for refurbishment, as reported by Disney Dining. The attraction closed almost a week ago, on August 18, and was initially set to reopen on August 27.
However, as we recently found out, journalist Scott Gustin took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that the closure would be extended by one day, and the attraction would now open on Monday, August 28.

Gustin reported that the closure was extended by a day due to “weather.” This could be referencing Hurricane Hilary, which swept through the southern coast of the Golden State earlier this week in a surprising and shocking turn of events.
Did Hurricane Hilary Affect Disneyland?
While the hurricane did hit both theme parks in Disneyland—Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park—it was downgraded to a tropical storm before impact. As a consequence, both the Disney Parks were safe from extensive damage.

However, it’s entirely possible that needing to deal with what became Tropical Storm Hilary eventually resulted in the delay of refurbishment processes for Radiator Springs Racers.
