Another day, another broken-down Disney ride! Inconvenient malfunctions and traumatizing breakdowns have become constant issues in Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, so much so that Disney Park Guests actually account for wasted time in their Disney vacation days due to roller coasters’ mechanical problems.

Disney’s “Frequent Offenders”

Some breakdowns are minor annoyances that happen often enough to label specific rides as frequent offenders (looking at you, Pirates of the Caribbean).

Unfortunately, one recent breakdown was more severe and actually left Disneyland Guests incapacitated for an hour of their precious Disney time!

In a post on Reddit, a Disneyland Guest shared photos from a very recent Disneyland attraction malfunction.

The ride in question was the Disneyland Railroad, and this Guest (along with their fellow passengers) were trapped on the train for 45 minutes before they were allowed to be evacuated off the train tracks and led on a precarious journey to freedom.

The Mysterious Big “Bang”

“We got on at New Orleans Square, and a couple minutes into our commute, the train came to a halt over the walkway that leads from the Hungry Bear to Galaxy’s Edge,” Reddit user Ornery_Comfortable93 explained in the post shown below.

“The conductor said the engine made a loud bang, so they stopped the train. I was in the first car and I didn’t hear the bang, and neither did anyone around us,” the Disneyland Guest said, adding that “out of caution for safety, they sent an engineer over to us to check it out.”

After about half an hour, the engineer approved the train’s functions and the Disneyland Railroad set off again — or, it would have, if the train had actually been able to work. Instead, “the train wouldn’t actually start.”

Disney’s Non-Starter

This led to another 15 minutes of waiting on the train before Disney Cast Members finally started evacuating the Guests — but the Guests’ evacuation involved a path that was far from comfortable!

“We walked across unstable rocks along the tracks mainly, with some actual wooden flooring in places, to the Big Thunder Mountain Escape Path,” the Reddit user recounted.

Not every Disney Guest is able to handle uneven footing, so it sounds like this evacuation could have posed some challenges for Guests as they tried to navigate the unsteady pathway!

When was the last time that you were trapped on a Disney ride for as long as 45 minutes, not including evacuation time?
