Disney Already Stopping Sale of Several Annual Pass Tiers

In addition to the flurry of news we’ve received over the last week about Annual Passes and the sale of Magic Keys, Disneyland has announced they will stop sales of several Annual Pass tiers.

Since May 31, 2022 of this year, Disneyland’s Magic Keys had remained unavailable for purchase for Disney Guests and fans. However, after a long wait, yesterday at 9 a.m. PST, Magic Keys went back on sale for Disneyland Guests. With this announcement, it was made clear that the Imagine Key is available only to Southern California residents, and the Enchant Key would remain exclusively for renewing Magic Key pass holders.

Earlier today, Disney announced that they have stopped the sales of the Believe Key pass, though renewals will continue, per Disney insider Scott Gustin. Gustin shared that a Disneyland Resort official had specified that while this might be disappointing for fans, it was important to “protect the experience for Disneyland Magic Key holders” and protect the value of the passes.

Gustin also in the thread that followed, explained:

The Believe Key remains available for all current Key holders in their *renewal window* window to renew into. The Believe Key is NOT available for current key holders outside of their renewal window for upgrades or downgrades.

What took many fans completely by surprise was the sudden announcement right after of sales of the Imagine Key also being stopped by Disney. As of right now, only the Inspire Key is available for purchase.

Many in the comments were disappointed at the development considering they’d been waiting since yesterday to buy their passes and they now were likely not going to be able to purchase Magic Keys at all. This in line with the 12-hour queues that Guests have been waiting in to get a chance to purchase their passes.

This news follows the announcement of the Central Florida Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass price increase. Despite the price hikes though, it still appears the top-tier Incredi-Pass will still not be as expensive as Disneyland’s Inspire Key.

The Disneyland Resort is home to two Theme Parks—Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park—which Disneyland Magic Key pass holders will be able to enjoy during their time at the Disney Park.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to report on all Disney news as it comes to light.
