Donald Fauntleroy Duck has been quacking up Disney fans for nearly nine decades.
The flustered Mickey Mouse Club cartoon character has been squawking alongside the bubbly Mickey Mouse and lovable Goofy in animated films, comic strips, and TV shows throughout Disney history since his first appearance in The Wise Little Hen (1934). With his iconic partner Daisy Duck and his rambunctious nephews, Huey, Duey, and Louie, Donald Duck has become an enduring favorite among Disney fans.
Not only has the anthropomorphic duck withstood the test of time, but the adored Donald Duck turns 89 on June 9! There are few Disney characters as engrained in the Parks as Donald, and Disney has been rolling out special performances, games, and treats to celebrate him.
Almost Quacking 90 Years Old
Disneyland Paris was the first Park to put a webbed foot forward for Donald Ducks’ birthday commemoration. While Donald Duck gets his due at the Parks, his birthday is a great time to revisit some of the iconic Disney shows and movies that made us fall in love with the grumpy duck in the first place.
