Daniel Ross is an award-winning voice actor who has been lucky enough to provide the voice of Disney’s Donald Duck, similar to Bill Farmer’s tenure as Goofy. This year, Ross won an Emmy award for his role as Donald Duck in the Disney Junior special Mickey and Minnie’s Wish Upon a Christmas. This week, he brought the statue to the Walt Disney World Resort and surprised Donald at the Cape May Cafe with the award. Donal Duck’s longtime girlfriend Daisy Duck, was also on hand, becoming overwhelmed with emotion over the proud scene.

Ross greeted the “Fab Five” Character using his Donald Duck voice and told him, “I don’t know if you know, but you won an Emmy, and I just wanted to bring this to you.” The Emmy was specifically for “Outstanding Voice Performance in a Preschool Animated Program.”

Ross handed Donald the hardware saying, “Your Emmy award, sir! Because you are the number one Duck!”

Known for playing second-fiddle to his best friend, Mickey Mouse, and always getting “stuck with all the bad luck,” Donald Duck has taken it all on the chin for decades, and this week he finally got the award that he deserves. The duck was, in fact, speechless he was so shocked and surprised.

It’s worth noting that Donald Duck is the only one of his pals to win an Emmy Award! Chris Diamantopoulos has been nominated for several Emmys as the voice actor for Mickey Mouse, but he has never been named the winner. Bill Farmer, voice actor for Goofy, won an Annie Award in 2015 and several BTVA Awards, but he has never brought home an Emmy.

Daniel Ross stepped into the role of Donald Duck for the Emmy Award-winning special by replacing the longtime Donald Duck voice actor Tony Anselmo, who has also earned our Number One Duck several BTVA awards for his work on Disney Channel’s DuckTales reboot and Disney Junior’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
