The high-speed futuristic thrill ride known asĀ TRON: Lightcycle / Run has been a long time coming, so Disney World enthusiasts have been clinging to any scraps of news about the ride from sources like the Disney Parks Blog.
As the roller coaster opening date finally approaches, news has been coming more and more consistently — but this special surprise from Disney might just take the cake as far asĀ TRONĀ news goes!
The Disney Parks Twitter account has just shared a special bonus opportunity (via the Tweet shown below) for Disney World Guests that will give them the chance to try out the ride before its opening date!

“ATTENTION USERS,” the Tweet says. “We have a surprise transmission from the Grid. Between 3.20 ā 4.2, Guests may have the early opportunity to experience TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by @Enterprise during a limited soft open via virtual queue or purchase of individual Lightning Lane entry.”
3.20 and 4.2 obviously means March 20 and April 2, so between March 20 and April 2, Walt Disney World Resort Guests just might get to have their own chance to rideĀ TRON: Lightcycle / Run as part of its “soft open”!

Initial reviews of the Tomorrowland ride in the Magic Kingdom have been very positive, with one Disney Fanatic writer confirming thatĀ TRON: Lightcycle / Run is “worth the wait” after testing the ride during the Annual Passholder Preview.
We have already seen clear evidence that Walt Disney World Resort is going all in onĀ TRONĀ themes in Tomorrowland to match the futuristic new ride, with a new eatery called Energy Bytes coming onto the scene.
The Magic Kingdom is capitalizing on the anticipation around TRON: Lightcycle / Run (the parallel Walt Disney Imagineering ride to the TRON: Lightcycle / Power Run roller coaster in Shanghai Disneyland) with new offerings like this futuristic eatery called Energy Bytes.
Since the initial reviews are so positive, and the Magic Kingdom clearly thinks that it is betting on a winner withĀ TRON: Lightcycle / Run, then any Disney World Resort Guests who are heading to the Magic Kingdom between March 20 and April 2 might want to make the Walt Disney Imagineering ride’s virtual queue and Individual Lightning Lane a priority for a chance to try the ride before itās officially open to everyone!
