EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional to Make its Return

The holiday season might be a few months away, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start getting excited about it, especially when we know we have our favorite Disney traditions to look forward to.

This year, Disney’s upped the ante. Not only are we seeing the return of the all-time favorite Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but we’re also getting some brand new entertainment offerings from the Mouse House. Disney announced a new spectacular event that will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park and the return of some beloved experiences to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

A “spirited seasonal event inspired by cultures near and far,” EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays is one of the most festive times of the year to visit the Disney Resort. From the Candlelight Processional to the Holiday Kitchens, any Disney Fanatic has a lot to be excited about.

On June 15, Disney took to their platform, Disney Parks Blog, to announce the return of EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. This year, the festival will run from November 24 through December 30.

Candlelight Processional at EPCOT

For the uninitiated, EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional tells the Christmas story by a celebrity narrator, complete with music from a mass choir and a performance by a 50-piece live orchestra. It’s one of the most sought-after events at Walt Disney World during the holidays, and many appreciate the chance to hear the Christmas story anew in this wonderful and magical way.

In the past, celebrity narrators have included Auli’i Cravalho, Jodi Benson, Andy Garcia, Blair Underwood, Neil Patrick Harris, Gloria Estefan, Whoopi Goldberg, Isabella Rossellini, and more. Disney Legend Josh Gad has also been a Candlelight Processional celebrity narrator.

While the celebrity narrators for this year have not yet been announced, we’re certain it’s going to be an experience to look forward to for all! EPCOT Guests can also expect some Guest-favorite traditions like spirited storytellers, joyful musical acts, and performers at the Disney Park.
