Fabulous Restaurants Coming To Disney World Resort

Space 220

The magic of Walt Disney World Resort extends far beyond the plentiful hot-ticket attractions, immaculate parks, overall warm welcoming spirit, and top-notch quality hotels. In fact, there is a seemingly boundless array of accolades that continue to make this place the number one resort destination in the world. And the fantastic food scene here is not to be overlooked, as several venues throughout Disney World even boast award-winning cuisine done up by some of the world’s best chefs. Of course, there are also plenty of quick service, more casual picks as well, but even these options hold true to a standard that is above and beyond the conventional casual. Even better, the Disney food scene is constantly developing, with new palatable picks debuting throughout the various parks, resorts, and in nearby Disney Springs. Here are just a couple of the fabulous new restaurants coming soon to Disney World.

8. Space 220

We learned a while ago about a new space-themed restaurant set to open over in Epcot as early as winter 2019. And with the slated deadline fast approaching, we are excited to reveal what we now know about the restaurant’s details, including its official name “Space 220.”  As part of a Mission: SPACE pavilion expansion initiative, this new Patina Group-run table service restaurant will soar diners to new heights—220 miles away from Earth to be exact—from within a space station complete with all the works in design and thematic elements to pair perfectly with the overall mealtime experience. And phenomenal views of space and Earth’s distant presence (daytime and nighttime both) will further enhance each diner’s delight, via large celestial panorama observation windows.

Also included in the package will be simulated effects via elevator and real-time rocketing, denoting the way in which diners will arrive to the space station to partake of their destination meal. While specifics about the menu are still unknown, you can rest assured that even if there are a couple out-of-this-world features, you should be able to find a bountiful array of familiar favorites amongst internationally inspired cuisine.

7. Round-Up Rodeo BBQ

An announcement back in April revealed plans to open up an all-new table service restaurant in the still new Toy Story Land addition at Hollywood Studios. And since then, we’ve seen groundbreaking and construction actively in the works, with things shaping up nicely for what is soon to be Round-Up Rodeo BBQ. Themed for being three cardboard boxes that have been cut and taped together by Andy in order to create a rodeo arena of sorts, you’ll discover a versatile collaboration of toys, games, and play sets.

This of course includes western themed toys but also other favorites Andy has added into the mix, creating a family-friendly experience incorporating both playtime and delectable sit-down dining. While no menu specific features have been revealed yet, what we do know is that traditional barbecued favorites you know and love so well are set to be anchor items. There is also no word of an official opening date for this restaurant as of yet, but given the rapid way things are starting to come together, we do not anticipate waiting too long.

6. Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts and Barbecue

Speaking of barbecue, over at the American Adventure Pavilion within Epcot’s World Showcase comes the announced opening of a brand new quick service offering for all-American hearty barbecue classics and traditions. Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts and Barbecue is set to open this winter, providing guests with all the good ol’ hearty U.S. backyard barbecue-style favorites done up in signature fashion only Disney magic can conjure so perfectly. The new menu boasts a wide range of enticing eats, from Texas beef brisket with a house-made spicy mop sauce on garlic toast to Kansas City smoked chicken, and just about everything else you’d expect.

Likewise, there are plenty of unexpected house specialties as well, including plant-based options like the BBQ burger, which will feature a plant-based patty topped with BBQ jackfruit and is to be served on vegan garlic toast. And don’t forget about the craft brews, with beer and cider pickings from all around the country, along with other regional spirits, including west coast wines, the Tennessee Lemonade Cocktail, and plenty of other fixings to wet your whistle. Regal Eagle will also feature light bites, quick grab-and-go items, and delectable dessert fixings to make for a sweet sendoff.
