Propose to the love of your life at Walt Disney World Resort? It’s a bold move that takes a lot of guts. And you better be sure he or she will say ‘yes’ before spilling your guts in public.

Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort see hundreds of proposals yearly. And with so many incredible locations and themed areas, a Disney proposal may seem like a great idea (especially if both of you are huge Disney fans).

Failed Wedding Proposals

But often, they go haywire. In the past, Disney Fanatic (and other Disney fan sites) have reported on some of these failed moments. Aside from the basic pressure of one’s partner turning them down, there have been other obstacles.

One of the most infamous proposals at Disney Parks took place at Disneyland Paris Resort. In mid-proposal, a Disney cast member interrupted to move them away from the stage.

There have also been proposals thwarted by rogue guests or bystanders, people commenting, or passersby interfering.

Another One…

However, a new video on social media captured a Walt Disney World proposal that went wrong. A video shared on social media via TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) shows a couple at a meet-and-greet with Princess Tiana.

But things suddenly turn when the male guest kneels and pulls out a ring. But he isn’t proposing to the woman he’s there with – he’s proposing to Princess Tiana.

“Will you marry me?” he asks.

Princess Tiana is sharply taken aback and almost breaks character as she tries to hide her laughter.

“This is my grandmother’s ring,” the guest continues.

After a few seconds of even more laughter, she responds with, “What about Naveen?”

“You don’t gotta tell him!” the guest replies.

The video shared in the post ends there. However, it’s probably safe to assume that Princes Tiana does her best to politely say “no.”

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

The Disney Princess has been showing up a lot more in the theme parks lately. This is likely due to increased hype around the reimagining of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

The new ride, offered at Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park, will use the same track layout as the former Splash Mountain and include a new story, songs, and audio-animatronics.

It is planned to open at both theme parks in the United States next year (2024) and will feature music and characters from The Princess and the Frog (2009).

About Steven

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
