Festival of Fantasy Parade Returning to the Magic Kingdom in 2022

Missing Magic Kingdom parades? It has been a long year and a half since we last celebrated a day at the Walt Disney World Resort with a parade down Main Street U.S.A., and today we are thrilled to share the news that Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade will be returning to the Magic Kingdom in 2022!

Festival of Fantasy

Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade ran daily in the Magic Kingdom (with the exception of rainy days when it is replaced by the Rainy Day Cavalcade) since 2014, and only paused performances for the first time in March 2020 when the Walt Disney World Resort closed at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, at the Destination D23 event at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Chairman of Parks, Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro announced that this beloved Magic Kingdom parade will be making its triumphant return in 2022!

At this time, we do not have additional details on the exact date that Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade will return or if special viewing areas will be available with dining packages or with Genie+, but we will share updates as we know more.

Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade offers a celebration of classic Disney characters and films in the Magic Kingdom with some of the most elaborate costume and float designs seen in any Disney park. The original music and choreography has also been a hit with fans, and we cannot wait to see this iconic experience return to the Magic Kingdom next year.

Previously the parade kicked off in Frontierland adjacent to Splash Mountain and made its way through Frontierland and Liberty Square to the hub in front of Cinderella Castle then down Main Street U.S.A. The parade will run along its original route when it returns next year.

In addition to the Festival of Fantasy Parade, D’Amaro also announced the return of Fantasmic to both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well as World of Color to Disney California Adventure.
