A recent incident at Disneyland Resort has sparked controversy after a father was filmed confronting cast members in the Single Rider line for the popular Radiator Springs Racers attraction. The altercation, captured in a TikTok video, shows the father becoming increasingly upset after he and his children were separated, a situation that is clearly outlined in the Disney Park rules.
Single Rider lines are designed for guests willing to ride solo or be separated from their parties in exchange for shorter wait times. Disneyland Resort offers Single Rider lines on several popular attractions, including Goofy’s Sky School, Incredicoaster, Radiator Springs Racers, Grizzly River Run, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, Soarin’ Over California, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Space Mountain.

Disneyland Resort’s official policy on Single Rider lines clearly states that guests will be separated from their party: “Single Rider service allows groups to split up and embark on select attractions individually,” and “immediate boarding or choice of seat is not guaranteed.” Guests must also be at least seven years old to ride alone. The guidelines are usually posted at the entrance of the Single Rider line, with Disney cast members often verifying that guests are comfortable with riding solo before entering the queue.
Despite these clear instructions, some Disney Park guests ignore the rules, trying to take advantage of the shorter wait times while staying with their groups. This is what led to the situation caught on video at Radiator Springs Racers.

On July 8, TikTok user @gadzooks2025 shared a video showing a man arguing with Disney cast members. In the video, the father, visibly upset, confronts the cast members, demanding that he and his children be allowed to stay together in the Single Rider line. As the video continues, the man becomes more agitated, shouting, “Call security!” but the Disney cast members refuse to do so at that moment.

According to the TikToker, “he and his kids got in the Single Rider line and he got mad bc their party got split up.” The video ends before it’s clear if Disneyland Resort security was called.
The video quickly garnered attention on social media, with many Disney Parks fans voicing their support for the cast members.
“This happens way too many times, I’ve seen groups look upset or angry when they end up in different seats,” said @chicaboniita_. “Like… what did you expect when it said SINGLE RIDER?”

“There are signs and you are told over and over you will be split up,” @njtransplant commented. “Honestly should be no discussion, send em to the back of the line and say try again.”
Some commenters were even more outspoken, calling for the father to be banned from the park.
“We don’t need that crap here at Disneyland,” @user87658362648 argued. “Ban the guy.”

“Escort him out and ban him for some time,” @richtheknifeguy agreed. “Wanna act like a fool, get treated like one.”
If you and your group choose to join a Single Rider line at Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, be prepared to be split up. This is a standard part of the experience, as stated by Disneyland Resort. If guests wish to ride together as a group, they are urged to wait in the regular standby line or opt for paid Lightning Lane access.

I travel solo most of the time. Single rider lines are great. And besides, as a solo guest, I’m already a single rider.
I’ve said it before: they (sadly) need to hire more Security CMs. Too many incidents like this. Guests need to understand that if they cause a huge scene, they may be spending time with Security. For something like this, as long as there were no threats or actual physical altercations, a trip away from the attraction and some time offstage with Security. For more physical behavior, drunkenness, threats, removal from the park to a year’s ban.
Stop allowing these people to ruin other guests’ enjoyment.
