Cast Member Fired After Being Targeted By “Disney Karen” Speaks Out

Being a Disney cast member is no easy task — and the rise of social media hasn’t made it easier. Disney cast members are expected to be happy and smiling all the time, whether they are standing in the boiling sun, cleaning up vomit on the street, or dealing with a screaming guest. But cast members are also people, and they deserve to be treated with respect. Sadly, fewer and fewer people seem to think about that, and they have no problem throwing a cast member under the bus if they don’t get their way.

Recently, a video went viral of a cast member defending herself against guests who were being extremely rude to her. The guest shared a video of the interaction on TikTok and asked the social media platform to help them call out the cast member. But things did not go how they were hoping. Commenters quickly called out the guests for their abhorrent behavior and defended the cast member.

Things got so bad for the original poster that they made their TikTok account private and deleted the original video.

Unfortunately, even though the cast member received a ton of support, Disney fired her when the video began circulating. And now, the cast member — named Korinn — is speaking out and telling her side of the story.

According to Korinn, she was heading backstage when a person asked to purchase something off her cart. She stopped to help them. That is when the TikTok family approached them. One young child with the group began taking things off of the cart. Korinn said that she would be with them as soon as she was done with the other guest and asked the child not to take things off the cart.

That is when the family reportedly got upset and started cursing at her. Korinn said that they called her the b-word and started harassing her. They kept pushing her and only started recording when they saw they were starting to get to her. In the video, the man in the group threatened to smash what was on her cart, and she told him to go ahead. Someone in the family then called Korinn “hood.”

Korinn becomes visibly upset when she talks about Disney firing her. She takes full responsibility for her behavior, but said that she didn’t think that she should be fired after the way the family treated her. She was a part of the Disney College Program and was forced to leave her housing when they terminated her employment. And since she was in the College Program, she was not in a union and had no one with her but her dad.

Korinn is still receiving a ton of support online. Many commenters were upset with Disney for not having her back. Yes, cast members are supposed to act a certain way, but guests should not be allowed to mistreat cast members and curse at them. A lot of people shared their own experiences working for Disney and agreed that Disney does not support its cast members the way it should.

Some even recommended that Korinn head to Disney’s competition down the road — Universal Orlando Resort. Multiple people said that they work or worked for Universal, and it was a great and supportive environment.
