Former Cast Member Reveals Disneyland’s Meanest and Nicest Celebrity Visitors

Celebrities tend to flock to Disney locations just like regular people do — after all, many of them have young children who are drawn to Disney magic, and many of them are self-professed Disney Adults regardless of whether or not they are parents — and a former Disney Cast Member has just shared her own celebrity experiences from her days on the job among other Disney Cast Members!

TikTok user Nicole Smith used to be a Disneyland Cast Member, and recently went down memory lane to share her favorite — and least favorite — celebrities.

“Will Ferrell was the very first celebrity I met at my very first shift at Disneyland when I worked at the Haunted Mansion,” Smith recalled, “and he is very cool. A very nice man.”

Will Ferrell’s friend and Daddy’s Home co-star Mark Wahlberg (who also recently starred opposite Marvel celebrity Tom Holland in an Indiana-Jones-style adventure film called Uncharted) also made a positive impression on the former Cast Member. “Can confirm that Mark Wahlberg is just as handsome in person as he is in photographs, and he is also a very nice man,” Smith said.

The singer Jason Derulo may be known for his good looks, but apparently, the singer was not as impressive as Mark Wahlberg. “He does not know the lyrics to Christmas songs and he had to write the lyrics on his hand [for his Christmas Disneyland performance],” Smith revealed. “It was kind of embarrassing.”

As for Christmas icon Mariah Carey, Smith made it clear that the singer is just as much of  “a diva” as advertised. “I heard it from many cast members, it’s not just me”, Smith explained. “She’s just rude. She’s not very friendly. And I love her, and I was really sad about that.” Surprisingly, Carey’s husband at the time, Nick Cannon, was reportedly unkind as well!

“Nick Cannon…has zero excuse to be a diva,” Smith added, saying that she met him briefly during a holiday parade.  “He was basically like, ‘don’t look at me, don’t talk to me, don’t even breathe in my direction.’”

Another famous singer, Mary J. Blige, apparently soothed the wounds from meeting Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon when she visited the Disney Parks. Smith called her the following:  “talented. Brilliant. Amazing. Show-stopping. Queen.” “She was the nicest person ever, and she sings amazing live,” the former Cast Member added. Smith also mentioned stars like Nicolas Cage and Demi Lovato! 

Celebrities often visit Disneyland and its Disney Parks, since it is closer to Hollywood than Walt Disney World Resort or Disney Springs, and sometimes they make other Guests’ days and enhance the Disney expreience when they’re spotted — but sometimes, apparently, they can dampen the Disney magic and the Disney experience.
