Gemma Chan Wows Fans With Her Appearance During the Eternals Premiere

We already knew to expect elegance and beauty from the English actress Gemma Chan, both in real life and in her new Marvel Studios movie Eternals (which comes out in November, and which features an unusual superhero played by her). But at the Eternals red carpet premiere in L.A., Gemma outdid herself once again! It seems like all of the Eternals cast made an effort to incorporate some sense of their individual characters’ identities into their outfits (especially Angelina Jolie), and Gemma definitely represented her character Sersi well by wearing a feminine, soft, but empowering Louis Vitton dress. The gentle white feathers on the dress and gorgeous, intimate detailing were a perfect reference to Sersi’s way of using love, empathy, and kindness as strength. Instead of being blunt and powerful, she is powerful through traits like grace and faith–and we can definitely see that in Gemma’s outfit!

Fans and viewers were understandably impressed by both the outfit choice and the actress’s beauty. Gemma Chan is a Loreal Paris ambassador, so her makeup artist Monika Blunder used Loreal Paris on her (see the exact products below, from Gemma’s Instagram, as well as a Youtube tutorial from Monika about how she typically does the Englishwoman’s makeup and another tutorial by Gemma herself!). Gemma also added an intergalactic detail to her manicure, most likely in reference to the Celestial nature of her character in Eternals!

For hair, Owen Gould said on Instagram that he and Gemma “wanted the hair to feel lived in and effortless. As if she’d swept it up herself. ” As far as the actual hairstyling, Gemma first prepped her hair with the strengthening shampoo and conditioner from L’Oreal called  L’Oreal Ever Bonding. After Owen dried her hair, he “took 2 inch sections and sprayed it with L’Oréal Elnette Hairspray…then wrapped it a around a 1.5 inch curling iron being careful to leave the ends out for a softer texture. The hair was then secured with a hair tie into a high loose ponytail.” After that, he “wrapped the rest of the hair around the pony to create a loose knot and then pulled out strands to give it a messier finish. One last spray overall with the Elnette and she was out the door. The end result was a beautiful complement to the rest of the look”.

We always love Gemma Chan for both her acting talent and her beauty, and it’s clear from the L.A. Eternals premiere that she can definitely make a statement! Costar Angelina Jolie has marveled at Gemma’s incredible ” grace and elegance and the way she walks through the world”. Marvel fans will be excited to see how this actress’s eyecatching looks and presence translate onscreen as she plays an immortal Celestial (and a character who is in love with Richard Madden’s character, the actor that Disney fans will recognize as Cinderella’s Prince Charming and who also happens to be one of Gemma’s close friends from over a decade ago). Now that the press tour is underway, we can’t wait to see what else Gemma brings to the table–or the red carpet and screen!
