Trip Planning Update: Genie+ Adding Four New Character Sightings

It appears that four new “Character Sighting” will be added to Walt Disney World’s Genie+ this week!

According to reporter Scott Gustin, Disney World’s modified character interactions being given their own Lightning Lane entrance include:

Magic Kingdom: – Mickey (Town Square Theater) – Cinderella and a visiting Princess (Fairytale Hall) – Tiana and a visiting Princess (Fairytale Hall) DHS: – Olaf (Celebrity Spotlight)

Disney World describes Genie+ Lightning Lane on its website as the following:

When you take your day to the next level by purchasing Disney Genie+ service, you may choose the next available arrival window for Lightning Lane entrances at select attractions and entertainment. There are more than 40 experiences across all 4 theme parks that are eligible.

You can enjoy a Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane entrance once per day. If you’d like to re-ride an attraction or see a certain show again within the same day, you are welcome to use our regular standby line.

Disney’s Genie launched in October of 2021 at the Walt Disney World Resort. While the planning app is complimentary at its base level and offers Guests personal optimization, and easy access to Mobile Ordering and virtual queues, Guests must purchase the upgraded version, Genie+, in order to take advantage of Disney World’s replacement for its retired FastPass system, the Lightning Lane. But Genie+ costs $15 per person per day and only offers access to ONE Lightning Lane entrance per day.
