The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are the ultimate Disney vacation spots. Be it the enthralling experience of Magic Kingdom Park or exploring the wonderful world of Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, or taking a wondrous stroll through Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort, there are always many thrills and enchantments awaiting Guests.
The Disney Genie suite is one of the biggest complaints about the Parks in recent years. The Genie suite consisting of Disney Genie+, Lightning Lane, and Individual Lightning Lane has been the bane of many a Guest’s vacation for a while. Guests are constantly frustrated with how much time they have to spend on their phones while at the Parks instead of enjoying the rides and attractions around them.
In addition, many mention the cost and prices of the Disney Genie suite. Of course, Disney has been listening to fans and has worked on fixing the system and product, as they announced recently.
But there’s also another Genie at the Parks—the character from the beloved Disney movie Aladdin. One fan shared an anecdote recently of how Genie once saved their life at the Parks. Here’s the story.
Disney Guest u/Brandinian shared a story of their visit to the Parks. It was around the year 1995, and the Guest’s family took a trip to 1995. The Guest said,
I was in Magic Kingdom and started choking on a grape. My mom freaked out and my step-dad didn’t immediately see it, but the cast member dressed as the Genie snapped into action, rushed to my aid, and Heimlich maneuvered me until the grape came out.
The user concluded, “If anyone has a friend who worked as the Genie in 1995 or so, thank them for saving my life.”
Fellow Disney fans in the comments celebrated the Cast Member’s actions and quick thinking. Another cleverly referenced the movie, sharing, “He was in the mood to help you, dude.”
While all’s well that ends well, this is certainly a credit to the Cast Members at Walt Disney World. They are most definitely the heart of the Disney experience.
