Girl Left Alone in EPCOT After Getting Dumped, Disney Fans Save Her Trip

Even with a masterfully-planned itinerary, it’s possible for a Walt Disney World vacation to go haywire. From attractions shutting down to tropical thunderstorms raining on your parade to toddler meltdowns, the Most Magical Place On Earth isn’t always perfect. While a missed dining reservation at Space 220 can slow a Disney trip down, drama with your Disney travel group can be completely catastrophic.

We’re not talking about a toddler meltdown shortening a Park-hopping day—we’re talking about a life-altering event with effects much deeper than a Disney disruption. While it’s hard to imagine a partner or family member putting a damper on a perfectly-curated Disney trip, one woman on Reddit had to live it.

In a vulnerable post by u/anonnnnnnn10110 on the people’s forum site, Reddit, she desperately shared a devastating update about her day at EPCOT:

If you saw a girl crying at Epcot today, hey what’s up! That was me!

I took my boyfriend to Disney World for the first time. Saved up like crazy and paid for all of it, only to get dumped today at Epcot. A year and a half, woop woop.

I have no idea if this kind of post is allowed here, but I paid way too much for these tickets to let this ruin my day any more than it already has. It is my first time going as an adult and I really want to be able to enjoy what I can. Does anyone have any tips for how I can enjoy and make the most of the park on my own? Thanks guys.

Got dumped today at Epcot. Any tips for enjoying the park alone?

Not only did the Redditor get support from fellow Disney fans, but they completely revived her Disney vacation.

It’s a Small World, After All

While the unexpected conclusion of a 1.5-year relationship is enough to kill the Disney magic, the pro-Disney goers in the comments resuscitated the original poster’s trip with high-quality Disney crisis advice. Although they were strangers on the internet, their compassionate comments prove it really is a small world.

Reddit user u/Nostradomusknows initiated a common thread throughout the post:

Call the hotel and tell them you lost your room cards and change the reservation to just you. Drink around the world.

While drinking around the world was an obvious starting point, u/AXISMGT offered a practical next step:

Also 5 brioche ice cream sandwiches.

Single rider lines were suggested by many of the Redditors, and u/echomanagement recommended an ideal solo dining option at The World Showcase:

If you can get a reservation at Biergarten, you’ll likely be at a table with a bunch of people and can regale them with your (very sad) but also very unique story of why you’re there solo. People are usually kinder than you think.

In a brilliant suggestion, u/taxi212001 urged the original poster to score extra magic in the Parks:

Maybe it’s just my sense of humour, but I would go get a celebration pin with “Got dumped at Epcot” on it. And woohoo for single rider lines! Do you have Memory Maker? Time to get lots of solo pics! Definitely cancel his room key.

With an outpouring of close to 600 comments recommending the best break-up food, cocktails, and activities, the Disney fans rallied to rescue the now-single Disney Guest’s vacation. In an update to her post, the anonymous user shared:

y’all are insane omg. I was bawling my eyes out reading some of your comments and messages, you are all so nice, thank you so much. ❤️ We are in the same hotel room so I’ll still have to figure that out as we drove here together as well. It’s my last day here so that definitely sucks, but I just spent some time at the resort pool and am going to go get some dinner and some much needed drinks back at the park here shortly! Test Track is one of my faves so I’ll try to enjoy some single riding there too while I wait to see some cool fireworks. Really wishing I could do after hours too now, eh? But thanks again everyone. It’s been a rough day but you are all amazing and have seriously made me feel so much better.

All it took to turn a Disney debacle around were a few hundred honorary fairy godmothers in the form of Disney fans on Reddit.
