Guest Enraged When Cast Member Won’t Break Rules For Her

When Walt Disney World Resort opened after its forced COVID-19 closure, Guests had to get used to a brand-new Disney experience. Masks were required at all times, social distancing was in place, character dining and buffets were gone, strict capacity limits were enforced, and Park Hopping (when it finally returned) was not allowed until 2 p.m. It’s been nearly three years since the Parks reopened, and many of those COVID protocols are no longer in existence. However, Park Hopping is still limited to 2 p.m.

Now, as stated above, 2 p.m. Park Hopping has been around for years at this point. Guests who want to Park Hop before that time will not be allowed into the Park they want until about 15 minutes before. When the rules started being enforced, Disney was very clear that Guests could not try to subvert the Park Hopping rule by making a dining reservation. If you can’t get into the Park until 2 p.m., then make your reservation for after that time.

However, one Guest recently visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios and became enraged when a Cast Member would not break the rules for her. Twitter user Johnald (@GrandCalStan) shared images of a story shared by an Instagram user.

The user claims that she made reservations at Woody’s Roundup BBQ in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for 1 p.m. She knew that she could not Park Hop until 2 p.m. but was hoping “a nice Cast Member could help.” Unfortunately for the user, a Cast Member was not willing to break the rules for her.

She then went on to call out the Cast Member by name, and said that he screamed at her and her friend. He then told him that he would not let them in. The Guest was angry, saying that she didn’t like that he had treated her like a first-time Disney goer, since she goes all the time. This means that she knew about the Park Hopper rules and didn’t think they would apply to her.

The Instagrammer didn’t receive much support online. Many were shocked at the sheer audacity of the Guest. She knew the rules and got mad when they weren’t bent for her. The woman in question shared on her Instagram stories that she was simply trying to adjust her dining reservation. However, when she was called out once again for expecting Cast Members to break the rules, she appeared to double down. Someone said she shouldn’t expect Cast Members to bend the rules for her, and she said that she hoped they weren’t a CM with that attitude.

Please, if you are going to Disney, be aware that the Cast Members have to follow the rules. Sure, they may be able to go out of their way to make things extra magical, but they can’t just break the rules. A Cast Member could even face termination if they are caught breaking rules for Guests. Also, if you know the rules, please follow them. Don’t think that if you just “ask nicely”, Cast Members will risk their jobs for you.
