Guest Stabbed with Disney Celebration Button, Needed Medical Attention

Disney Button Accident

Disney Celebration Buttons are normally a fun way to express yourself during your day in the Theme Parks. Provided for free at Guest Relations or most gift shop registers, Guests can let everybody know if it is their first visit to the Theme Parks, their birthday, anniversary, or whatever they are celebrating.

But these buttons still utilize a pin with a very sharp point, and it appears that one Guest got far worse than a finger prick from a spinning wheel spindle.

TikTok user @selenemoran6 shared that her friend was riding Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland when a Disney Celebration Button that was fixed on her lanyard got lodged into her arm, and someone from Disneyland’s Emergency Medical Service was called to help remove the pin.

The video clearly shows Disney’s on-hand medical professional tending to the Guest with all of the same grace as an “on-stage” Cast Member, removing the button without her even realizing it and treating the small wound effectively, allowing her to enjoy the rest of her Disney Day.

While pin pricks are common with Disney Celebration Buttons and Disney Trading Pins, it should be noted that moments like these which call upon medical attention are very rare. That being said, it might be best to keep such buttons attached to bags or any other exterior clothing. If anybody in your party is ever in need of medical attention, please do not hesitate to notify the nearest Cast Member, who will be able to connect you with medical professionals.
