One of the biggest factors in many Disney fans’ Disney vacation days involves how they are spending their valuable Disney time. Unfortunately, these days, it seems like that time is being wasted more and more: Disney rides are breaking down and malfunctioning at a shockingly-frequent level, and Disney World or Disneyland Guests have absolutely noticed!

In a conversation on the website called Reddit, Disneyland Guests commiserated as they discussed their negative experiences with frequent Disney Park ride or roller coaster breakdowns.

“Space Mountain, Big Thunder and Rise were down from the Park entrance through most of the morning, overlapping with Indy and Matterhorn for part of the morning,” one Disneyland Guest reported after a recent visit to Disneyland Resort.

“Then, pirates went down for a big part of the day mid day til evening up til at least when we left. And of course Indy broke down when we were on the steps down to the loading area,” the Reddit user continued. “Common knowledge by now but legitimately, Indiana Jones now has like literally a 50% hit rate for us having it shut down while in line or on the ride over the last year.”

The constant breakdowns are “getting pretty jarring,” the Reddit user added.

Another Disneyland fan called the number of ride malfunctions or breakdowns “ridiculous”, reporting that they were at Disneyland recently and there were about “30 minutes when Space, BTMRR, Matterhorn and RotR were all down simultaneously”. This apparently “had park-wide ripple effects until at least 8pm when we left.”

RISE OF THE RESISTANCE — Disney guests will traverse the corridors of a Star Destroyer and join an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance – including a face-off with Kylo Ren – when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens Dec. 5, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland Resort in California. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever. (Joshua Sudock/Disney Parks)

Other Guests highlighted the attractions that seem to break down more than once in a single day consistently, including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (“usually prone to breaking down 2-4 times a day”), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (“tends to go down a few times a day”), Pirates of the Caribbean (“maybe once a day, sometimes twice a day”), and Jungle Cruise (which “was down several times last week”).

“Even the rides I made it onto when they finally opened ended up breaking down soon after I got off,” one Guest pointed out. “Waited 40 min in the LL line for Matterhorn before it broke down AGAIN and finally had to get out of line because I was wasting so much time.”

Since Disney Guests only have a certain amount of time in the Disney Parks, and Disney vacations are getting more expensive as prices rise, it seems understandable that Disney Guests are becoming frustrated by the constant delays. We already know that Disney is reportedly very understaffed in the maintenance department (and therefore in need of mechanics who can repair rides and maintain them), and apparently, this issue continues to be a blight on Disneyland ride passengers’ not-so-magical Disney days!
