There are so many dining options when visiting a Disney Park. Not only are there numerous sit-down restaurants where Guests can dine on delicious food while interacting with characters, but there are also a ton of great counter service options. If you are more of a food on-the-go type person, Disney has you covered there as well! Sweets lovers can grab a hot and scrumptious churro or maybe a DOLE Whip. Hungrier Guests, or those who want something filling and satisfying, can munch on one of Disney’s most legendary snacks. That would be the giant turkey leg.
The turkey leg is as synonymous with Disney as “it’s a small world”. Guests can smell the smoked leg long before they see it. Of course, while many people love it, others just can’t imagine trying to eat something so big. Well, TikToker @kahn_of_cons may have you rethinking things.
He recently visited Disneyland Resort and purchased a turkey leg. He then settled into a table at the Jolly Holiday Café and got ready to dig in. But before he did, he did something that people are calling “genius”. Kahn_of_cons took a packet of King’s Hawaiian Rolls out of his bag. They then ripped a piece of turkey off of the leg and put it in one of the rolls. A mini smoked turkey sandwich.
One of my favorite Disney day hacks 🤧 #fyp #disney #disneyland #happiestplaceonearth #disneylandcalifornia #disneysnacks #disneytiktok #valentinesday #disneycouple #disneylandfood #disneylandtiktok #disneylandtips #NextLevelDish
Commenters were blown away by the TikTokers ingenuity. @ctkat6 said that they loved the idea because no one wants to try to eat the turkey legs because they are so large.
This is a great idea- that turkey leg can feed 4, but nobody wants a communal gnaw on the bone. Sliders or tacos is the way to go.
Elizabeth Ceniceros pointed out that this idea could be especially great for families with children.
this is a great idea for families with little kids
A lot of others commented that they had either done this themselves or knew people that did. A lot of people said they sometimes brought tortillas (takes up less space than the rolls). Some even bring their own condiments!
Taking a Disney vacation is an expensive experience. So, if you are looking to save some money while visiting the magical location, then this hack can be a definite money saver! Buying one turkey leg and making a lot of sandwiches (or tacos) out of them can feed a lot of people for not a lot of money. Another money-saving tip to go along with that, DO NOT BUY WATER! Many Disney counter service spots will give you cups of water with ice for free!
