If you’re a Pixar fan who has always felt that the 1998 movie A Bug’s Life was underappreciated by Disney fans and other Pixar fans, then you might want to pay a visit to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom sometime soon! Bug’s Life characters are starting to make appearances in the Animal Kingdom Disney Park, starting with the beautiful gypsy moth named Gypsy!
The Disney duo behind Instagram account “Keeping Up in Disney” just visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom and shared footage from a Meet and Greet with the character Gypsy from A Bug’s Life, adding that she was “so beautiful”. Gypsy made good use of her wings, folding them in a game of “peek a boo” and showing off her wings’ intricate patterns.
The Disney and Pixar character encounter was also shared by the “Keeping Up in Disney” duo on TikTok in the video shown below. Bug’s Life Disney attraction has always been a crowd-pleaser, so this duo’s happiness about meeting Gypsy isn’t surprising!

Meet and Greets have been returning to normal in the Disney Parks despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with Disney character hugs only just returning to Meet and Greets at Walt Disney World Resort. Not all Disney Guests make Character Experiences a priority during their Disney vacations, but any Disney Guests who have missed them will be pleased about their return!
Which Pixar Animation Studios characters from A Bug’s Life would you like to see added to the Meet and Greet roster next in Disney Parks, and would you like to see them in the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Hollywood Studios in addition to the Animal Kingdom?
The Animal Kingdom seems like the most appropriate choice for these bugs, since they’ve been honored by their own Animal Kingdom attraction and they’re surrounded by their natural environment (not to mention fun Animal Kingdom attractions like Expedition Everest, the Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Discovery Island)!
Would you like to meet ants like Flick, Dot, and Princess Atta, or would you prefer to meet circus performers like the ladybug Francis, Gypsy’s husband Manny, or the walking stick insect Slim?
