Bette Midler and her “sisters” are back for Hocus Pocus 2, and the three actresses recently took a look at the brand-new trailer for the Hocus Pocus sequel that brings their characters back to Salem, Massachusetts!
The Hocus Pocus sequel is set to premiere on the streaming platform Disney+ on September 30, according to the Tweet below from Disney itself, and the sequel also recently filmed some reshoots in New York City (even though the movie is set in Salem, Massachusetts).
The leading ladies who played the witches known as Sanderson sisters in the first Hocus Pocus movie from 1993 (which is a cult favorite from Disney, especially around Halloween) are returning in their roles, much to the delight of Hocus Pocus fans.
Legendary actress Bette Midler is back as the oldest sister and leader, Winifred Sanderson, while Sex and the City and And Just Like That actress Sarah Jessica Parker is returning as the ditzy youngest sister Sarah Sanderson and comedic actress Kathy Najimy is returning as the middle child Mary Sanderson.
Doug Jones is also returning as Billy Butcherson (who happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Bette Midler’s character Winifred Sanderson). Three young new heroines are taking center stage in the movie: Becca (played by Whitney Peak), Izzy (played by Belissa Escobedo), and Cassie (played by Lilia Buckingham). When these three girls bring back the Sanderson sisters to Salem, trouble begins! Will the black flame make an appearance? Time will tell!

While watching the trailer for Hocus Pocus 2, Bette Midler was particularly enthusiastic. “That looks fabulous,” the Broadway star said. The Hocus Pocus 2 trailer included the tagline “Some legends never die”, and Bette Midler also added that she “loved that” while her two co-stars nodded in agreement. “Wow, wow, wow, wow,” Sarah Jessica Parker added with a smile. It looks like these three are still Hocus Pocus fans!
Overall, the trio seemed impressed with their new movie’s trailer, and many Hocus Pocus fans who loved the original film have been very excited to see the follow-up, too! Are you going to watch it on Disney+ in September?
