The countdown has begun for the much-anticipated Jurassic World Rebirth, set to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on Godzilla (2014) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the seventh installment in the Jurassic Park saga promises to usher in a “new Jurassic era.” With a script by Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp, this film is expected to blend nostalgia with innovation, featuring new characters, breath-taking locations, and storylines that aim to revitalize the franchise.
Leading the charge is Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a covert operative tasked with a top-secret mission: to extract genetic material from “the three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air.”
While the franchise has wowed audiences with dinosaurs like the T. rex and the Mosasaurus, the introduction of a Megalodon—essentially a prehistoric, larger-than-life great white shark—could be a game-changer. Now, a recent production image featuring a massive Megalodon jaw fossil has reignited fan speculation about the creature’s live-action debut. Whether it’s a fossilized call-back or a setup for a shocking underwater sequence, the potential inclusion of the Megalodon signals thrilling new depths for Jurassic World Rebirth.

I’ve had some sleep I still think my theory is possible I do need to clarify: I don’t necessarily think we’ll see a living Meg in Jurassic World Rebirth; the jaws would tease that extinct Cenozoics are back and we might see others (like big snek) appear on “the island”.
to 3 AM Evo, this theory, as crazy as it is… seems pretty legit.

Filmed at Malta Film Studios, where Rebirth utilized advanced water tanks designed for large-scale underwater sequences, the film now teases what could be the franchise’s most ambitious aquatic set pieces yet. While the equally gargantuan aquatic predator, the Mosasaurus, delivered iconic moments in previous films, no full-length underwater exploration has been attempted.
Now, with Zora Bennett’s mission to extract DNA from creatures across land, sea, and air, per the official synopsis, Jurassic World Rebirth might finally plunge audiences into the depths of the ocean.
