The King Arthur Carrousel closed for refurbishment on July 6, with WDW News Today sharing a photo of the iconic attraction already enclosed by construction barriers. Royalty-themed pennants decorate the construction barriers in the area behind the Sword in the Stone, offering guests a themed photo opportunity even while the attraction itself is unavailable.

A banner on the beige construction walls surrounding the interior of the carrousel delivers the following message:

“A Proclamation
Hear ye, Hear ye! All who come to this place shall… Pardon our Pixie Dust.
By Decree of The Royal Court”

According to Disneyland Resort's official website, the King Arthur Carrousel is scheduled to reopen on Friday, July 17. That date is subject to change as the refurbishment progresses.

Frontierland Also Loses an Attraction the Same Day

The King Arthur Carrousel wasn't the only Disneyland Park attraction to go offline on July 6. The Frontierland Shootin' Exposition also closed for refurbishment on the same day, with construction walls already surrounding the interactive shooting gallery.

Disneyland Resort's official attraction webpage currently lists no operating hours for the experience through August 17, 2026, and encourages guests to check back for updates.

The Frontierland Shootin' Exposition closure has broader significance for Disney Parks fans, as the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade at Magic Kingdom Park closed on June 23, 2024. Disneyland Resort's version had been the only functional shooting gallery attraction at any Disney park in the United States. Now, there is nowhere in the U.S. for Disney Parks fans to practice their aim in the Wild West.
