‘Freaky Friday’ Star Looks Back on Her Disney Roles

These days, Disney fans seem to associate Lindsay Lohan with two things: her stellar string of Disney movies and romcoms from her childhood, and the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel that will reunite her with Jamie Lee Curtis.

Lindsay Lohan, the Unofficial Disney Princess

Now, the actress (and mom-to-be) has just appeared in an Allure video to go behind the scenes and talk about some of her favorite “iconic looks” from her film career.

Lindsay Lohan first became famous after playing twins in the Disney movie The Parent Trap (1998). She then starred in Disney movies like Get a Clue (2002), Freaky Friday (2003, Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005), and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004).

Lohan also starred in many non-Disney films, such as the 2004 hit Mean Girls, before entering a series of scandals and personal struggles.

Lohan has begun a renaissance of sorts recently, however, and just starred in a Netflix holiday film last year called Falling for Christmas.

“The makeup was really important because Anna wanted to go against her mom’s wishes at any point she could,” Lindsay Lohan explained in the video shown above, referring to her Freaky Friday character.

“I actually wanted the eye makeup to be heavier,” Lohan confessed, “but it didn’t read well on camera.”

“We needed to tone it down for Disney,” she added, laughing, “so we went a little lighter.”

“Tone It Down For Disney”

This is reminiscent of a similar story that was told by Disney star Dove Cameron, who remembers fighting with Disney about wearing a tea-length dress on an episode of Liv and Maddie (even though the dress was neither low-cut nor particularly short).

Lohan also spoke about the Disney movie Get a Clue in this interview, mentioning her younger self’s excitement about missing school for hair and makeup sessions.

Lohan also mentioned some very deliberate “old Hollywood” looks that her character wore in the film, concluding that the film was “a blast to do.”

Freaky Friday 2, Coming Soon

Lohan did not specifically mention the Freaky Friday sequel that has had Disney fans talking for months, but the sequel was confirmed recently, so audiences will have to wait and see to find out whether or not Lohan has brought as much edge to Anna this time as she wanted to in the first Disney movie!
