Disney Parks announced that the live-action remake version of Princess Ariel will be added to the plethora of character interactions at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disneyland Paris Resort by the time her movie is released in theaters.

“We’re always looking for ways to build connection through the power of our stories, and we are excited for fans to enjoy meeting Ariel from both the animated and live-action stories,” says Disney Parks Blog.

The announcement was made with the help of actress Halle Bailey and paired with a clip of The Little Mermaid.

Just as Disneyland Resort decided to offer meet and greets with Pixar’s “real” Buzz Lightyear, Disney Parks will offer Guests a chance to interact with the latest version of another character. This time, modeled after Halle Bailey’s interpretation of Princess Ariel.

Disney Parks seems to make it clear, however, that this will be a limited-time experience.

Fans of the original animated classic also need not worry, as all Little Mermaid-themed attractions currently in operation at all three of the mentioned Disney Resorts will remain true to their specific source material.

Starring Halle Bailey, Awkwafina, Daveed Diggs, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy, Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid opens in theaters May 26, 2023.
