We have reason to believe that Disney Cruise Line is closer than ever to expanding its sailing options in and around Australia.

According to opengovau.com, Magical Cruise Company, Limited, registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on March 28, 2022.

Magical Cruise Company, Ltd. is the company under which Disney Cruise Line operates. Headquartered in the U.K., the company is also found to be registered in States that host home ports for members of the Disney Cruise Line fleet like Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy: Florida, California, and Alaska, to name a few.

We at Disney Fanatic recently covered that the newest ship, the Disney Wish, is set to be delivered and begin operations out of Florida this summer, and two other Triton-class ships are expected to follow in the coming years. More ships allow for a broader reach which allows Disney Cruise Line to expand their operations in other parts of the Seven Seas where the demand for cruising is either already established or is starting to grow. One such case is Australia.

“The Land Down Under,” and its neighbors like New Zealand, Indonesia, and Singapore, are already a cruising spot for Disney Cruise Line competitors like Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Establishing a homeport in Sydney will bring Disney-level cruise quality to yet another market and continue to give other cruise companies a run for their money.

It should be noted that Disney Cruise Line’s desire to enter the Australian market is over ten years old, going so far as to put out job postings for the expansion back in 2011.

But nothing has yet come of it, and Disney Cruise Line has, instead, expanded its reach throughout Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean.

But perhaps, with official company registration and the addition of another ship, that dream of expanding to Australia will finally come true.

It should be noted at this time that there has been no official word from Disney Cruise Line regarding an expansion into Australian waters, and this article is pure speculation based on the company registration. We at Disney Fanatic will continue to keep our eyes on this story and will update our readers on this and other Disney Cruise Line news as more developments come to light.
