Marvel fans visiting Disneyland Paris were met with disappointment today as the park abruptly ended the highly anticipated “Doctor Strange: Mystery of the Mystics” show at Avengers Campus. The sudden cancellation followed technical difficulties that disrupted the performance, leaving guests curious about the fate of the show.
The Rise of Marvel at Disney Parks
Disney has made significant investments in bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe to life at its theme parks. The trend began with Hong Kong Disneyland’s Stark Expo in 2019 and expanded with the opening of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure in 2021. A year later, Disneyland Paris welcomed its own Avengers Campus, complete with cutting-edge attractions and immersive experiences.
While Paris version of Avengers Campus may be lacking in high-tech attractions (the less said about Avengers Flight Force the better), it does boast its fair share of engaging shows and character interactions, with the most recent addition being “Doctor Strange: Mystery of the Mystics.”
The rooftop stage show features Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and even Agatha Harkness as they confront a mysterious dark force detected by F.R.I.D.A.Y., Stark Industries’ AI system.
Based on the characters played by Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, and Kathryn Hahn in the MCU, the show has been a popular draw since its debut in November 2023, with performances scheduled to continue until March 2025.
Technical Issues Force Abrupt Cancellation
During today’s performance, the show’s high-tech projections reportedly malfunctioned, switching to a choppy frame rate that detracted from the immersive experience.
According to reports from DLP Report, the glitch caused an abrupt halt to the performance, which did not continue.
💥 At Avengers Campus, the projections for “Doctor Strange: Mystery of the Mystics” switched to 2 frames per second and the show suddenly ended. Nothing to see here 😬

This is not the first time Walt Disney Studios Park has faced technical challenges. Earlier this year, a global Microsoft server outage affected operations across multiple Disney parks, including Paris. Turnstiles, show schedules, and attraction displays were disrupted, forcing manual ticket checks and causing significant delays for guests.
The Future of Walt Disney Studios Park
“Doctor Strange: Mystery of the Mystics” is one of many new additions coming to Walt Disney Studios Park. The Paris destination plans to unveil new lands and attractions as part of its ongoing transformation. Upcoming additions include a World of Frozen land, a Tangled (2010)-themed ride, and Disney’s first dedicated area for The Lion King (1994).
These expansions aim to elevate Walt Disney Studios Park, which has often been criticized for its lackluster lineup (and budget vibes) compared to other Disney parks.
