For a long time, EPCOT was thought of as the Walt Disney World theme park most suited to adults. That’s because when most people thought about what was there, the first thing to come to mind was the World Showcase, which was full of restaurants and shops representing different countries around the globe. EPCOT is still the Park people flock to for its variety of food and drinks. Many of the rides outside the World Showcase, in addition to being fun, helped kids learn. Some of the most memorable rides include Body Wars, Ellen’s Energy Adventure, and Cranium Command.
However, over the past couple of decades, Disney has been putting a lot of time and effort into transforming EPCOT into a place that is beloved by both adults and kids. There are now a number of exciting rides at the Park, including Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Soarin’ Around The World.
Soarin’ Around the World opened in 2005 as Soarin’ Over California. The original attraction took Guests up in the air and gave them the experience of flying over gorgeous areas of the Golden State. This included spots like the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite Valley, Valencia, Orange Groves, and more. Then, in 2016, Disney completely changed the ride, and it became Soarin’ Around the World, taking Guests to places like Sydney, Australia, and Paris, France.
However, when Soarin’ Over California became Soarin’ Around the World, Guests noticed something odd. The scenes shot for Soarin’ Over California were made to fit the curved screen of the attraction. But the scenes Soarin’ Around the World were not. Instead, Guests riding the new Soarin’ can’t ignore that all the scenes curve at the top. That means that, instead of standing straight, the Eiffel Tower seems to tilt and bends a lot toward the top.
Anyone who has ridden Soarin’ Around the World knows about this big issue. This includes the person who runs the social media account of Orlando International Airport (MCO). The MCO Twitter account is becoming well-known for its hilarious tweets, and the recent one about Soarin’ doesn’t fall short. The account sent out a picture of the airport’s control tower severely bent, like it might look on Soarin’.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the hilarious tweet, praising the person who thought of it. Then, someone said that they were missing the hanging feet that can be seen by anyone not sitting in the front row of the attraction. Being the courteous Twitter account that it is, MCO obliged and sent out another tweet.

Even though it remains a popular attraction, Soarin’ Around the World doesn’t receive the same amount of love as Soarin’ Over California. For the past couple of years, Soarin’ Over California has returned to Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland Resort for the DCA Food & Wine Festival. Guests rejoice when the original attraction returns, and wait times are typically well above an hour.
