Mears and Sunshine Flyer Combine
While previously competing, a shared dedication to providing dependable travel has caused Mears Connect and the Sunshine Flyer to join forces to establish a unified entity known as Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine. This partnership is said to introduce a range of improvements that will revolutionize convenience and excellence for travelers.
The press release assures that combining Mears Connect and the Sunshine Flyer will provide many opportunities for better travel. From expanded booking capabilities to a commitment to round-the-clock service, Guests can look forward to a seamless journey to and from Orlando International Airport, setting the stage for an enchanting Walt Disney World vacation.
Missing Magical Express
While Mears Connect and the Sunshine Flyer’s merger aims to provide an exceptional Guest transportation experience, some Florida visitors still hold a special place in their hearts for the discontinued Magical Express. The beloved convenience and magical touch associated with the previous Disney-provided service have left an enduring impact, leading these individuals to express their longing for its return as a transportation choice. Nevertheless, here we are with these acceptable options.

By merging operations, sharing ideas, expanding services, collaborating on what’s best for the Guest, we believe we can provide an even better Guest experience given the challenges and opportunities in today’s travel market.
Mark Sherman, General Manager of the Sunshine Flyer, expressed the mutual benefits of this partnership:
Whether it is 24/7 service, express options, or a private trip to ease Guests’ minds the minute they step off the plane, together, Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine is delivering more to our Guests. We are confident that our collaborative efforts will promote a creative atmosphere and will allow us to focus on the customer experience and kick off the magic of a Walt Disney World® vacation the moment they touch down in Orlando.
When Does the Merger Happen?
The anticipated merger is scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2023. Guests with new reservations can use the dedicated 24/7 hotline for inquiries and assistance. Existing reservations will remain unaffected. Sunshine Flyer Guests traveling during the transitional period will receive personalized email communications containing revised travel instructions. It is also the sole 24-hour shuttle service that serves both the A/B and C terminals. Moreover, the new service will prioritize accessibility, ensuring full wheelchair accessibility and adherence to ADA standards for standard and express services.
