A Disneyland Park tradition remains on pause, as Mickey Mouse has yet to return to his original meet-and-greet spot in Fantasyland. The location has been closed for several months due to ongoing construction.
A Change to a Fan-Favorite Experience

Back in 2020, Disneyland Paris Resort made an unusual change: the Disneyland Railroad stopped making its traditional stop in Fantasyland. Instead of demolishing the unused Fantasyland Station, the European Disney park transformed the space into a meet-and-greet location for Mickey Mouse. The charming new setup allowed fans to take photos with the Big Cheese himself while the Disneyland Railroad passed by in the background.
However, that experience has been unavailable for quite some time. Earlier this year, Disneyland Paris Resort surrounded the Fantasyland Station with scaffolding as part of a major refurbishment project. Still, even with some barriers now removed, Mickey Mouse has yet to make his return.
Construction Progress Continues

On October 28, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP shared new photos from Disneyland Park (Paris), showing the scaffolding starting to come down around the Fantasyland Station’s clock tower. In the images, the iconic structure once again towers over the area, signaling that construction is nearing completion. Still, the Disney Park guest noted that Mickey Mouse remains absent.

A Temporary Solution for Guests

Fortunately, visitors to Disneyland Paris Resort can still meet Mickey Mouse elsewhere. According to both the social media user and Disneyland Paris Resort’s official website, the character is now greeting guests inside the Studio D pre-show area. This theater was previously used for the “Disney Junior Live On Stage!” experience.
Even though this temporary setup provides a new location to meet Mickey, the European Disney Resort cautions guests that “this Character Encounter may be changed, delayed or removed without prior notice.” Disney PhotoPass is available in the temporary meet-and-greet area.
When Will Mickey Mouse Return?

As of now, there’s no official word from Disneyland Paris Resort about when Mickey will resume his meet-and-greet at Fantasyland Station. Follow Disney Fanatic for updates on this and other developments at Disney parks around the world!
