The construction footprint around Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris Resort just got significantly larger, and the visual impact on one of the most photographed spots in any Disney park is now impossible to ignore.
More Walls Go Up on May 18

What began in early May as a refurbishment of the bridge to Sleeping Beauty Castle has expanded this week with the addition of new, undecorated plywood construction walls at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. Unlike the printed scrim Disneyland Paris Resort installed over the original barriers — an attempt to soften the visual impact for guests trying to photograph the castle — these latest walls are bare.
X user @DLPReport documented the expansion on the platform formerly known as Twitter:
🔧 As work on the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge refurbishment and nearby projects intensifies, additional walls have appeared 😬

Fellow X user @PixiedustDLP also shared a video of the scene, capturing the point where the new white barriers connect to the older scrim-covered walls:
🚧 🏰 Starting today, there are even more construction walls around Sleeping Beauty Castle. As a result, the parade route will also have to be adjusted. That is probably why the walkway at the entrance to Discoveryland was recently lowered.

The Parade Route Gets a Workaround

The expanding construction zone is also physically reshaping how guests and performers move through the original European Disney park. A curb in the Central Plaza area has been flattened and reworked to create a modified corridor for Disney Stars on Parade, which now needs to navigate around the construction walls rather than its usual route.
@DLPReport shared a photo of the altered curb near Discoveryland:
🔧 Recent works on this side of Central Plaza have led to the flattening and reworking of this curb. This is to accommodate Disney Stars in Parade which now squeezes into this little corridor while the Sleeping Beauty Castle refurbishment is ongoing.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Remains Open

Despite the growing wall of construction barriers surrounding it, Sleeping Beauty Castle hasn’t been entirely closed off to guests. Disneyland Paris Resort has confirmed that both the castle walkthrough and La Tanière du Dragon — The Lair of the Dragon — will remain accessible throughout the refurbishment via alternate entrances.
The bridge project is scheduled to wrap up in late September 2026, meaning guests visiting Disneyland Park between now and fall should expect the current construction presence to be a consistent part of the landscape.
