In 1955, Walt Disney brought his dreams to life with the opening of Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. The first-of-its-kind theme park featured five distinct lands, each with its own unique feel and attractions — Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and Main Street, U.S.A. There are even some attractions that opened with the park that you can still ride today, including the Disneyland Railroad, Autopia, King Arthur’s Carrousel, and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

One of Disney’s most iconic attractions of all time — “it’s a small world” — is not an opening day attraction, but it is still one of the most classic rides in the park. The Fantasyland attraction takes guests on “The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed.” Guests travel through different parts of the world — places like Australia, the jungles of Africa, and even under the sea — while animatronic dolls sing the memorable song “It’s a Small World (After All)”.

Right now, guests who visit Disneyland can ride “it’s a small world” Holiday, which takes the classic attraction and gives it a Christmas overlay. There are stunning lights and Christmas carols sung throughout the attraction.

On November 26, guests riding the popular attraction were stunned when a man climbed out of his ride vehicle, took off his clothes, and began climbing all over the attraction. The man — who remained expressionless nearly the entire time — was seen grabbing onto the animatronic dolls in the Middle Eastern section, then splashing through the water as he tried to avoid police.

The Anaheim Police Department arrested the man and charged him with public indecency and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The holiday season at Disneyland Resort is one of the busiest times of the year at The Happiest Place on Earth. And it looks like Disney is doing everything it can to prevent an issue like the naked man fiasco from happening again.

Redditor JamminJcruz took to the social media platform to share that they had visited the Park since the incident and noticed that Disney had increased security around the attraction.

Did anyone go to the park today and notice a difference in security due to the incident on ‘It’s A Small World’ the other day?

JamminJcruz was not the only one who noticed the increased security. Redditor gmwelder86 said that they noticed the same thing when they went the weekend after the incident.

We were there over the weekend and mentioned to my wife the same thing. Either they went out and hired a bunch of security people, or they just are not in plain clothes like before.

“it’s a small world” is not the only area of the theme park where there is reportedly increased security. User 1320Fastback said that they had also noticed an increased police presence at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking garages.

On November 16, at around 9:30 p.m., 24-year-old Jonah Edwards leaped to his death from the Mickey & Friends parking structure, which is six stories tall. Edwards was the third person to commit suicide by jumping from the Disneyland parking structure in less than a year. Before this year, there had only been three suicides at the parking structure in more than a decade.

Do you think Disney security should have a bigger presence in the parks? Let us know in the comments.
