For many actors, the chance to work for Disney is a dream come true. Especially if the role you are cast in is that of the new villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many actors who appear in Marvel films are shot to superstardom. On the flip side, becoming more famous inevitably means that their privacy takes a serious hit. Unfortunately, for Marvel star, Jonathan Majors, his private life has become a massive media story, since he was arrested on charges of domestic violence back in March.

On March 25, the actor was arrested in New York for battery against an unknown female. He was also accused of trying to strangle her. Not long after he was released on his own recognizance, Majors released text messages that he said would prove his innocence. However, those text messages only seemed to convince people of his guilt. The woman Majors was accused of assaulting apologized for what happened. She said that the fight was her fault because she tried to grab his phone. The alleged victim never said that he didn’t attack her, but instead, blamed herself.

Majors is scheduled to make a court appearance on May 8. However, it looks like things may not go as smoothly for him as he was hoping. According to a new, exclusive report from Variety, more women have come forward and spoken about Majors’ violent behavior.

Here’s more on the exclusive report from Variety:

Sources familiar with the matter tell Variety that multiple alleged abuse victims of Majors have come forward following his March arrest and are cooperating with the Manhattan district attorney’s office. The prospect of more women waiting in the wings would mark a dramatic turn in the case and comes on the heels of Majors’ publicists and management firm cutting ties with the embattled actor earlier this week.

Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, says that the actor maintains his innocence, and has proof to back it up.

“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated,” said Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry in a statement.

Multiple outlets have reported that Disney has not yet spoken with Majors’ about the possibility of parting ways. Majors has already starred in the hit Disney+ show Loki, as well as in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors’ character, Kang the Conqueror, is set to become the new big villain in phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In addition to multiple women coming forward with abuse allegations, Majors has also been dropped by his publicist and his manager. He has even stepped down from multiple charities and boards he was on.

Disney has not commented on Majors or the domestic abuse charges levied against him.
