A new survey issued by Disney Cruise Line could suggest that the most magical cruise ever to sail the seven seas is starting to second guess their draconian covid-justified vaccine mandate.
While researching the latest information surrounding Disney Cruise Line’s character experiences, this writer was asked to take a survey and was given this question:
“In order to sail with Disney Cruise Line, all Guests ages 5 and older must be fully vaccinated.Â
Based on this requirement, which of the following describes your interest in a Disney Cruise Line vacation?”
As of this article’s publication, is only serving “ and all vaccine-eligible as young as five years old are required to show of and a negative on before being allowed to board.
Out of the available answers, it seems clear that Disney Cruise Line wants to know if its vaccination policies are causing people to turn away. Participants are able to plainly tell the cruise line that “after learning about the sailing requirements, I am no longer interested in sailing on a Disney Cruise Line vacation.”
The appearance of this survey and, most noticeably, this question comes just after we at Disney Fanatic shared a report from Travel Weekly that would-be Disney Cruise Line passengers are opting for family-oriented competitors like Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International that have already lowered or dropped their testing and vaccination requirement.
“It’s easier,” said DeeAna Archer, owner of Texas-based Archer Luxury Travel. “When you talk about a family of four, five or six, [testing] adds up to a lot of money.” Archer shared that her clients had already canceled at least $40,000 worth of Disney Cruise Line vacations in search of alternatives.

It should be noted that vaccination requirements may still vary based on the departure ports and ports of call of any cruise itinerary–especially Disney’s European homeports. We at Disney Fanatic advise all would-be cruisers to take that into consideration when booking with any cruise line.
At this time, it is unclear if Disney Cruise Line will finally become more accessible and cater to those who do not wish to subject themselves or their children to a Covid-19 vaccine. Baby steps are already being taken, though. Starting August 29, normal character greetings are set to return on board, and beginning September 2, vaccination requirements are eliminated for Guests 12 and under.
We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Cruise Line news and stories as more developments come to light.
