A Spanish theme park, PortAventura Park, in Salou, Spain, has been dubbed “better than Disneyland” and could well be the next big theme park in Europe.

The Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort, or any of the Disney Parks around the world are agreed upon to be some of the best ways to experience Disney magic and have your chance to enjoy the Disney experience.

From amazing rides and attractions like Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion in either The Magic Kingdom Park or Disneyland Park to incredible lands like the Avengers Campus in Disneyland Paris, there is a lot to love about any Disney Park.

However, it’s no secret that in recent years, fans have had a lot to say about Disney and the Disney experience that is not flattering. Whether it is about the high cost of a Disney vacation or the drop in quality of the Disney Park experience despite high costs, fans have deemed that Disney has its work cut out for it as a company if it wants to return to its former Glory.

While Disney is working on improving its park experience, other rivals and theme parks are presenting themselves as possible competitors to Disney. One well-known example is Universal, which has proven time and again to be a worthy rival of the Walt Disney Company.

However, now another theme park in Spain, Europe, has been shortlisted as a possible successor to the theme park experience and has been deemed to be “better than Disneyland.”

PortAventura Park in Salou is built around themed hotels that transport guests into different Worlds. Each of these hotels is a luxurious experience, and guests have the chance to enjoy different themes while staying at any hotel.

For example, if they want to enjoy a far west theme, Hotel Gold River and Hotel Colorado Creek are four-star options that they can enjoy.

Similar to EPCOT in Walt Disney World, this theme park also has lands and areas inspired by different countries and regions of the world. For example, Polynesia is a tropical area of the park that features a swinging ship ride, among other water-based attractions.

The park also has a land themed around China, which is the biggest land of the park, and Is home to large roller coasters called Dragon Khan and Shambhala.

Along with this, one of the biggest draws of the park is Ferrari Land, which opened in 2017. This land is home to Europe’s tallest and fastest Roller coaster called The Mighty Red Force.

Visitors commented about the theme park, “This is much better than Disneyland Paris, the rides were super fun with short bearable queues (15-30mins). This park is well laid out and features many rides suited for all types of thrillseeker.”

Another shared, “For us, it was all about the rides, and we were not disappointed. We stayed at the Gold River Hotel and accessed the park quickly and easily. The queue times were very acceptable – the maximum wait time that we experienced was about 30 minutes – and well worth it, it’s better than Disneyland.”
