The Disneyland Resort is set to get some significant–and arguably overdue–technological upgrades this week.
The Happiest Place On Earth already announced that it was going to finally integrate MagicBand+ into the Parks experience, and now it will finally add some more features to its mobile app to put it more on par with Walt Disney World Resort’s MyDisneyExperience App.
According to Disney Parks, here are the top three upcoming options.
Disneyland Resort Car Locator
Yes, Disneyland Resort will add a Car Finder feature for its Guests.
Disney Parks Blog states:
“This complimentary feature, presented by State Farm, will use Location Services to find and save your parking information at the Mickey & Friends parking structure, Pixar Pals parking structure, Toy Story parking area and Simba parking lot. It works best when you enable Location Services, Bluetooth technology and Notifications on your mobile device, but if you don’t have Location Services on, you can manually enter your parking details. Either way, it’s a helpful reminder at the end of the day!”
PhotoPass Lenses
Disneyland’s app will also be receiving some Disney PhotoPass incentives connected to Disney Genie+ purchases.
Disney Parks state,
“In addition to unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads, audio tales and the ability to select the next available Lightning Lane entry window, one at a time, for select attractions**, the purchase of Disney Genie+ service now includes access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the Disneyland app*** – some of which are unique to Disneyland Resort! Initially launched at Walt Disney World Resort in collaboration with Snap, these interactive photo moments immerse you in Disney stories and make your park memories even more magical. The video below shows how you can take an underwater photo with Marlin and Dory, pose with Grogu and more using augmented reality.”

Mobile Checkout for Disneyland Resort Shops and Merchandise
It appears that Disney Parks will expand its mobile shopping from mobile ordering to mobile checkout for merchandise and other shops like The Emporium.
According to Disney Parks Blog,
“For a speedier in-store shopping experience at select merchandise locations, you can scan and pay for select items right from your phone using the Disneyland app. Storing a payment option, like a credit card, to your Disney account adds even more convenience. When you’re done, show your QR confirmation code and selected items to a cast member at the designated exit, and you’re all set! World of Disney in Downtown Disney District, Emporium at Disneyland park and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure park are among the many shops that offer merchandise mobile checkout.”
All of these features and more are now available on the latest version of the Disneyland app. Please be sure to visit the app store to ensure the latest version is downloaded on your mobile device.
