UPDATE: An earlier version of this erroneously listed CS/SB 76: State Park Campsite Reservations as a law that would affect the Disney Campgrounds as well; however, since these are private campgrounds, the law will not affect them.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed some new laws into existence beginning January 1, 2024, that will affect Disney World guests.
While going to the Walt Disney World Resort is an incredibly immersive experience, the reality is the Central Florida Disney resort is situated within the Sunshine State of Florida and is subject to the state’s laws. In fact, a big reason the Walt Disney Company and the Disney resort have been in the news lately has to do with their entanglements with the Florida Governor.

New Florida Law Affects Disney World Guests in This Way
There are two laws Disney World guests need primarily concern themselves with. The first is the Senate House bill HB-425. This bill primarily deals with motorists in Florida. It further elaborates on the “Move Over Law.” This law requires drivers to move into a different lane to make way for law enforcement, sanitation crews, emergency workers, tow trucks, construction cars, and utility vehicles.

From January 1, 2024, this law is expanded to include cars on the road that are “displaying hazard lights, flares, emergency signage, or a car stopped with someone present inside or outside the vehicle.”

Florida residents will need their Florida ID card or driver’s license numbers to make these bookings. Also, out-of-towners needn’t worry as well. They will be able to reserve their spots up to ten months in advance.
So there you have it! The new Florida law that will impact Disney World park goers starting January 1, 2024.
