An all-new celebration featuring favorite Disney and Pixar characters is coming to Disney Cruise Line next year!
The Disney Parks Blog just shared the news that “Pixar Day at Sea” will take place on select sailings aboard the Disney Fantasy beginning in 2023.
This new special event will take place exclusively on select seven-night cruises on the Disney Fantasy beginning right with the New Year in January 2023. This event just for Guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line will include opportunities to spend more time with favorite characters as Pixar favorites join Guests to dine, dance, play, sing, and even swim! The event comes in addition to the ship’s Pixar film festival with event-specific merchandise and photo ops for everyone joining the celebration onboard.
Here’s a closer look at what Pixar Day at Sea will include:
Characters around the ship will feature Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Bo Poop from Toy Story (1995), Mike, Sulley, and Boo from Monsters, Inc. (2001), Joy and Sadness from Inside Out (2o15), Dug and Russell from Up! (2009), and Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone from The Incredibles (2004).
Lots of new entertainment will be available on the Disney Fantasy during Pixar Day at Sea, including a brand new nighttime spectacular where your family can join the Incredibles to help save the day, and a new theatrical experience featuring the story of Coco (2017) alongside ornate puppetry and popular songs from the film. A dance party will also take place, allowing Guests of all ages to dance along with their favorite Disney and Pixar pals.
In terms of new character dining experiences onboard, Guests on Pixar Day at Sea sailings can start their day with breakfast and sing-a-longs with their favorite characters from Toy Story including Sheriff Woody, Jesse and Bullseye. And for dinner, Guests can experience themed dishes based on Pixar Animation Studios’ local California eats.
Animator’s Palate, the fan-favorite restaurant onboard Disney Cruise Line ships, will also celebrate Pixar Day at Sea with its immersive atmosphere and an appearance by favorite characters from Finding Nemo (2003) plus interactive conversations with everyone’s favorite sea turtle, Crush.

Nine cruises so far will feature Pixar Day at Sea in 2023, running January through March. Cruises depart from Port Canaveral, FL and stop at Eastern Caribbean ports including Tortola, St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Western Caribbean ports of call like Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; and Falmouth, Jamaica. Both cruises also call on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island.
