While most of The Walt Disney World Resort began decorating for Christmas right after Halloween, it appears Star-Lord, and the rest of Guardians of the Galaxy will wait until after Thanksgiving to start their holiday celebration at the Xandar Pavilion at EPCOT.
On Friday, November 25, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Holiday Remix will open at Disney World, and the special holiday overlay will take up residency through December 30.
While Guests will take part in the same cosmic adventure through space and time, the soundtrack will be updated from its usual rotation to a new holiday remix track. This is just the latest holiday overlay to debut at a Disney World attraction following the annual return of the Jingle Cruise at Adventureland, Magic Kingdom Park.
Cosmic Rewind’s Holiday Remix also debuts just a few days after James Gunn’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special debuted on Disney+, becoming just the second Marvel Christmas movie after Iron Man 3 (yes, it IS a Christmas movie).
Disney World Guests should keep in mind that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is still only accessible by either Individual Lightning Lane or virtual queue–which is only available for Guests with an EPCOT Theme Park Reservation.
Disney World describes Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, in part, as the following:
Take off on an intergalactic chase through space and time with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
This family-thrill attraction features the first-ever reverse-launch on a Disney coaster and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world! A new innovation from Walt Disney Imagineering—this coaster rotates 360 degrees so you can focus on the action!
We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more developments come to light.
