There’s Enough Room for Both Ariels
With The Little Mermaid on display in theaters, Halle Bailey’s Ariel portrayal will be featured in the Parks’ meet-and-greets. Throughout the movie’s promotions, Bailey has touched the hearts of millions as a role model for young girls of color who finally got to see themselves in one of Disney’s classic characters.
Now, fans of all ages and backgrounds will meet the most famous mermaid and catch a glimpse of the movie magic in Disney Parks. Disney fans attached to the portrayal of Jodie Benson’s Ariel from the original film will still see her throughout the theme Parks. There’s enough room for both Ariel depictions in the magical world of Disney.
This celebration of The Little Mermaid’s May 26 premiere comes alongside the film featuring a knock-out cast, including Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton.
