For 100 years, the magic makers at The Walt Disney Company have been creating some of the most memorable characters in existence. They have taken classic literary characters — like Peter Pan, Princess Aurora, Ariel, and Belle — to life in new ways. They have also created some of the most beloved characters of all time, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Stitch, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and so many more.

Disney is known for its incredible animated films as much as it is known for its theme parks. And to honor its creators and their characters, Disney has come up with a brand-new short, Once Upon a Studio. The new short will show what happens when the characters think they have Walt Disney Animation Studios all to themselves.
According to Disney, the new short will feature more than 500 classic and cherished characters. Yes, you read that correctly. More than 500 characters in a short film! To make things more amazing, more than 40 actors will return to voice their original characters.
Disney finally released a trailer for Once Upon a Studio on September 21, and you can watch it below.
Here’s more from Disney on what went into bringing this amazing short film to life and what viewers can expect.
In Once Upon a Studio, an all-star ensemble of beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios assembles to take a group photo in honor of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary—making for a joyful, entertaining, and emotional reunion. Featuring 543 characters from more than 85 feature-length and short films, Once Upon a Studio welcomes heroes and villains, princes and princesses, sidekicks and sorcerers—in all-new hand-drawn and CG animation—to celebrate 10 decades of storytelling, artistry, and technological achievements.
Once Upon a Studio will premiere on October 15, during The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration!. The celebration kicks off at 8 p.m. with America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Others were blown away by the talented artists who flawlessly blended the classic animated characters with the newer, computer-animated characters.
One thing I’m not seeing talked about with Once Upon A Studio is how good the CGI/2D blend is here. I mean, just look at Moana holding Flounder here.
It’s so seamless!

100 Years of Disney Magic
Once Upon a Studio is just a small part of how The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. Guests visiting Disney parks also get to take part in the celebration.
The heart of the Disney100 is being held at Disneyland Resort. Back in January, Disney introduced two new nighttime spectaculars to The Happiest Place on Earth — Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park and World of Color – ONE at Disney California Adventure. World of Color is still showing, but Wondrous Journeys is currently on pause as Disney shows Halloween Screams fireworks.

In addition to the nighttime shows, Disneyland guests can also indulge in a number of mouthwatering food and drink options that can only be found during the Disney100.
Disney’s 100th celebration has also recently hit EPCOT at Walt Disney World Resort. There are new decorations throughout the theme park. Disney has also brought back the classic attraction Soarin’ Over California for a limited time. And gorgeous Disney100 merch can be found at EPCOT, Disneyland Resort, and on shopDisney.
Disney has said that each of its six Resorts will celebrate the Disney100 in their own special way.
