14. Pack Extra Clothes Ice cream spills, water fountain playing, diaper catastrophes. There are lots of ways for kids’ clothes to get soiled at Disney World. Keep a fresh change of clothes on hand, especially for the smaller members of your family. 

15. Shield From the Sun Similar to number 20, be sure to bring sun hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Getting sunburned can goof up a vacation fast than you can say Great Goofini.

16. Label Everything Strollers, backpacks, and drink cups can all look similar. Best to put your name on them to avoid any confusion. We also recommend “labeling” small kids with your phone number written on a bandaid—because losing a child would definitely be the worst disaster.

17. Follow Directions Goofy is notorious for falls, bumps, and accidents of every kind. To avoid a similar fate, be sure to follow the directions of the cast members who are looking out for your safety.

18. Pack a Poncho Rain can actually be a good thing at Disney. It cools things down and thins out the crowds. But picture Goofy wringing a waterfall out of wet clothes—not so fun if that’s you at Disney. Pack a poncho from the Dollar Store and avoid this mishap. 

19. Wear Closed-Toe Shoes On a recent trip I thought I’d live on the edge and wear comfy flip flops. I promptly stubbed and bloodied my big toe on Tom Sawyers Island. Lesson learned. 

20. Bring Water Have you ever seen a cartoon imitation of heat exhaustion? The sweat, the droopy eyes, the dragging limbs—oh my! Don’t let that be you. Pack reusable water bottles and refill them often.
