Landman fans are going to have a much longer wait than they may have expected for Season 3.
After hopes that the Paramount+ series could return around November 2026, the latest production timeline makes one thing clear: new episodes aren't coming this year.
Instead, Landman Season 3 is now expected to arrive sometime in mid-to-late 2027. Paramount has not announced an exact premiere date yet, but production isn't far enough along for a 2026 release.
Fortunately, the show itself isn't going anywhere.
‘Landman’ Season 3 Is Moving Forward
Paramount renewed Landman for a third season following the success of Season 2, which concluded on January 18, 2026.
Billy Bob Thornton is also expected to return as Tommy Norris, so fans don't have to worry about Season 2 being the end of his story.
The bigger issue is simply how long producing Season 3 will take.
James Jordan, who plays Dale, revealed in late July that production was expected to begin roughly a month later. Casting activity has also started around Fort Worth, with the production seeking extras for dates in late September.
With filming expected to continue into early 2027, releasing an entire new season before the end of 2026 is no longer realistic.
That leaves mid-to-late 2027 as the current expected window.
A Longer Wait for Tommy Norris
The delay means viewers could go well over a year without a new episode.
Season 2 finished in January 2026, and even a mid-2027 premiere would create a significant break between seasons. If the show doesn't return until later in 2027, that gap will grow even larger.
Still, there are signs that Season 3 is beginning to take shape.
Michael Kelly has joined the cast as a new series regular. He'll play William Crockett, a powerful industry figure who runs the world's largest oil management firm.
That addition could give Tommy another major personality to deal with as the story continues.
For now, Paramount hasn't put a specific Season 3 premiere date on the calendar.
The important news for fans is that Landman remains alive and production is progressing. The disappointing part is that the wait won't end in November—or anywhere else in 2026.
Unless the production timeline changes dramatically, Tommy Norris won't be back until 2027.
