The new Disney+ Percy Jackson series called Percy Jackson and the Olympians (which stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri in the iconic lead roles of Percy Jackson, Grover Underwood, and Annabeth Chase) is getting another upgrade — but this time, the upgrade is affecting the originals that started it all!
Disney Books has revealed that revamped new versions of the Percy Jackson books (or, at least, some of them) are coming on the market in preparation for the highly-anticipated new Percy Jackson TV series.
This new show is a second attempt when it comes to adapting the hugely-successful Greek mythology adventure series written by acclaimed author Rick Riordan, since the first two Percy Jackson movies were critical failures and Riordan himself was not impressed with the final product.
There are several Percy Jackson books in the Rick Riordan series, but Disney is updating just a few — especially the most famous of the books, ie. “Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” (the first book in the series, in which Percy Jackson learns that he is a demigod because his father is the Greek god Poseidon).
This book is being treated with a new cover, and eight pages of photos from the new series are also included in this special edition of the book to make these copies even more in demand.
The next special edition is a graphic novel version of the famous book, portraying the version of Percy Jackson that clearly resembles actor Walker Scobell (the young Adam Project actor who is taking over the role after Logan Lerman played the character in the famously-disastrous films).
This graphic novel adaptation comes courtesy of writer Robert Venditti and artist José Villarrubia.
The last new iteration of a Percy Jackson book is “Camp Half-Blood Confidential,” which is an add-on to the series that contains plenty of behind-the-scenes information about Camp Half-Blood for hardcore Percy Jackson fans who truly want to immerse themselves in Percy’s world as he trains with other demigods like Annabeth Chase.
Cover reveals! 🔱 The @PercySeries tie-in covers are here and they’re beautiful.
