The Walt Disney Company often plays things close to the chest. Despite big announcements at D23 or during stockholder meetings, there are many projects Disney tries to keep hushed up.

Building Permits for Disneyland Resort
But one of the easiest ways to see what plans are actually in the works is to review City Building Permits (or follow someone who does). It was recently reported on X (formerly Twitter) that some construction work is being planned at Disneyland Resort.
NEW: Starting later this year, Disneyland Resort will begin work to construct new, updated entry gates at the entryways to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The update will include adding additional gates and making the gates stroller and ADA accessible. pic.twitter.com/2urd6EHDhk

The entryway of Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park will be updated later in 2024. Building permits for the new theme park gates were filed with the City of Anaheim on December 8, 2023.

The new design is expected to have a similar entrance to Disneyland Paris, which has entry gates instead of turnstiles, that open automatically after a cast member scans and validates a theme park ticket.
Disneyland Park and California Adventure Updates
The updates for Disneyland Park also include the plan to install removable railings, overhead shrouds, and fixed manual gates. Similar permits were filed for work at Disney’s California Adventure Park.

The new entryways for the two Disney parks will also help make entering easier for guests with strollers, wheelchairs, or disabilities.
The two new updates have a total valuation of about $6 million.
These Disney permits were filed on the same day as the Hall of Wishes near the Disneyland Park entrance. The small structure was established to help promote the 2023 animated film Wish.

Named the Hall of Wishes, guests could enter for unique photo ops. And because it is outside the Disneyland Park gates, you do not need a park ticket to visit.
Music from the animated film would play when you step inside, allowing you to dance or sing along.
