Disney World Tron Progress

As we enter the final few months before TRON: Lightycyle Power Run finally opens at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, we are given an overhead view of the final preparations that are underway.

Situated at Magic Kingdom Park’s Tomorrowland, right next to Space Mountain, TRON’s progress has been defined through some major checkpoints, like the raising of the canopy, the first sights of coaster testing, and the return of the Walt Disney World Railroad to the tracks, passing safely underneath the behemoth.

This last stage visually appears to be the completion of the area around the coaster and the multiple walkways Theme Park Guests will take in and out of the ride building. And now, thanks once again to @bioreconstruct, we have an idea of the progress going on there.

It appears that the previous walkway that used to connect Storybook Circus to Tomorrowland that ran along the railroad tracks will be repaved and reopened with the attraction. The elevated walkways are being paved, and more of the greenery in the surrounding area is being put in place as well, closer to the walkway from Space Mountain and the barrier near the Tomorrowland Speedway. There also appears to be a barrier currently on the train tracks that could simply be there to keep nosey Guests from snooping when the iconic narro gauge train is not being tested.

Originally opening at Shanghai Disneyland, TRON: Lightcycle Power Run still does not have an opening date, but Disney Parks confirmed that it will open to Guests sometime in Spring 2023. Hopefully, the signs of progress will continue to shine through as we enter the new year.

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to update our readers on Disney Parks news and stories as more details come to light.
