When it comes to Disney theme parks, fans always have opinions. Whether it’s a new attraction, a restaurant overhaul, or an unexpected closure, Disney guests never hesitate to share what they think is best for the parks. And sometimes, their suggestions are so overwhelmingly agreed upon that you have to wonder—why isn’t Disney listening?
For years, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been one of the most debated parks at Walt Disney World. While it boasts iconic lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land, some argue the park lacks a cohesive theme.

Instead, critics claim it’s more of a catch-all location where Disney places attractions that don’t quite fit anywhere else. And now, guests have their sights set on one particular area that they think needs to go: Pixar Plaza.
A Boring Brick Alleyway?
One Disney fan recently took to Reddit to vent about Pixar Plaza, calling it a “sad shell of a land” and a “boring brick alleyway.”
The user, Jayhero19, sparked a conversation among Disney fans about whether this section of the park should be reimagined—or shut down altogether.
“I bet you thought I was gonna say Animation Courtyard, right? Well, this time I’m giving ol’ Launch Bay a break to drag its neighbor… Pixar Plaza. Talk about a bland, pointless dead end. This area used to be a gateway into the Studio Backlot Tour and the Streets of America back in the day. Housing the entrance to Midway Mania until Toy Story Land opened. I liked the Municiberg (Incredibles) overlay that was done in conjunction with Incredibles 2 a few years back. But these days, it’s a sad shell of a land, occasionally used to meet Pixar characters in a boring brick alleyway. What’s the point? I do really like the Edna Mode meet and greet space, but other than that, it’s so uninspired. What are your thoughts on this area? Could Disney do anything to improve it?”

The post quickly gained traction, earning over 340 upvotes and more than 100 comments. Many users agreed that Pixar Plaza, while once a key entry point for attractions, now feels like an afterthought.
Should Disney Reimagine Pixar Plaza?
Currently, Pixar Plaza is primarily a character meet-and-greet space, allowing guests to interact with beloved figures like Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. (2001). But many argue that a character spot alone isn’t enough to make the area feel vibrant or worth visiting.

One Redditor suggested that the area should receive a full retheme rather than just closing.
“I kinda like keeping it an area for meet and greets but increase the theming, decorations, overall atmosphere… make it over-the-top and fun. My daughter got to meet Joy, Frozone, Sulley, and Mrs. Incredible in 20 minutes a few weeks ago, and it was the highlight of her day.”
However, others believe the space is simply too small to be an exciting land and would be better suited for a fresh concept entirely. With Disney developing a Monsters, Inc.-themed Monstropolis area in Hollywood Studios, some fans speculate that Pixar Plaza’s characters — like Sulley — will eventually relocate there.

“In addition, I feel like it’s only logical that Sulley will be moved to Monsters, Inc. land once it’s complete. Goofy and Max were always in a weird meet-and-greet spot out there. Maybe some kind of retheme to include them?” one fan suggested.
A Quiet Spot in a Chaotic Park
Despite all the criticism, not everyone is on board with closing Pixar Plaza. Some fans argue that, in a park as busy as Hollywood Studios, having a quiet area is actually a benefit.
“There’s not a lot of places to take a breather in Hollywood Studios,” one commenter noted. “Pixar Plaza is a nice little escape when there aren’t any characters around. It’s shady, quiet, and a great place to enjoy a snack before running to your next Lightning Lane.”

As of now, Disney has not announced any plans to remove or reimagine Pixar Plaza. However, the nearby Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy recently closed to make way for a new Villains-themed stage show, proving that Disney is willing to shake things up at Hollywood Studios.
With fan demand for change growing, could Pixar Plaza be the next area on Disney’s chopping block? Or will the company find a way to revitalize this underwhelming section of the park?
What do you think? Should Pixar Plaza stay, be reimagined, or shut down completely? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
